ReefPure PHOSaR Although Phosphorus is a part of every living organism, in the aquarium, its presence will promote the growth of nuisance algae and inhibit coral growth. Phosphate may enter the aquarium through food, top off water or from aquarium salt itself. The first key to nuisance algae control is to limit and reduce the measurable Phosphate levels in the marine and reef aquarium. Iron-based filtration media (Granular Iron Oxide) has become the standard for Phosphate removal in the marine and reef aquarium.
