Two Choices for Phosphate Reduction
Although Phosphorus is a part of every living organism, in the aquarium,
its presence will promote the growth of nuisance algae and inhibit coral
growth. Phosphate may enter the aquarium through food, top off water or from
aquarium salt itself. The first key to nuisance algae control is to limit and
reduce the measurable Phosphate levels in the marine and reef aquarium.
Iron-based filtration media (Granular Iron Oxide) has become the standard for
Phosphate removal in the marine and reef aquarium. Several companies offer
very similar granulated media that must be used in a complex fluidized reactor
for maximum efficiency. Their products
tend to block water flow and even solidify if used in a cannister filter or
passively, in a sump.
Warner Marine Research PHOSaR is a new high performance Iron-based media
with a special shape and composition especially for water filtration.
PHOSaR contains Iron Oxide in a new pelleted form which offers higher
hydrodynamic performance compared to the competitor's Iron-based granular
products. Microanalysis reveals that the pelleted media found in PHOSaR has a
more uniform and efficient pore structure to allow greater adsorption to
levels below 4ppB. In addition, PHOSaR is an excellent product for removing
dangerous Arsenic, which can also damage the marine and reef aquarium.
Warner Marine Research PHOSaR can be simply used in a cannister filter
or in a micron bag. Since PHOSaR allows flow-thru, a cannister filter can be
an extremely efficient method of removing Phosphate and Arsenic. The hobbyist
may also place PHOSaR in a micron bag and place the bag in a location with
moderate water flow, such as a sump. Competing products are nearly useless
outside of the fluidized reactor, which makes Warner Marine Research PHOSaR
the easy choice for all marine and reef aquariums. PHOSaR is available in
125g, 250g and 500g sizes for the home hobbyist and 2kg and 10kg sizes for
commercial applications.
Recently Warner Marine Research has released PHOSaR HC, a completely new
product utilizing a new and unique Iron based media. PHOSaR HC is denser,
harder, less dusty and more durable. In addition, PHOSaR HC adsorbs up to 50%
more Phosphates, Silicates and Arsenic compared to other similar products. The
high capacity also allows PHOSaR HC to be used up to 12 weeks at full
performance with no release back into the aquarium water.
Original PHOSaR is a 1mm diameter pellet, 3-5mm in length. The pellet shape is
highly hydrodynamic and works well in a media reactor, canister filter or in a
media bag in a sump. Original PHOSaR works best when used in low to moderate
water flow. Higher water flow rates may damage the media and are not
recommended. The end user should gently RINSE the media with purified fresh
water until the rinse water is clear. Original PHOSaR should be used at a
dosage of 1 gram per gallon of aquarium volume. This will remove nearly 1ppm of
Phosphates.
PHOSaR HC is a high density granule, approximately 2-4mm in size. It works best
in a media reactor or a canister filter. PHOSaR HC also requires low to
moderate water flow to function correctly although in a media reactor a
slightly higher flow is possible. PHOSaR HC should be rinsed well with purified
fresh water until the rinse water is clear. PHOSaR HC will last up to 12 weeks
in an aquarium with low Phosphate levels. Use 50% less PHOSaR HC compared to
other competing products. If you currently need 4 inches of media in your media
reactor you can use 2 inches of PHOSaR HC for similar adsorption capacity plus
it will last much longer.

Warner Marine Research is proud to announce the introduction of two fantastic
new products essential to growing healthy, colorful SPS corals.
ReefPure Ultimate Aminos Supplement
Provides essential Amino Acids for the growth of hard corals including SPS and
LPS corals. Amino acids are used in the calcification process to build coral
skeleton and are equally important as Calcium and Carbonates. In addition,
Amino Acids serve as an energy source for corals and beneficial bacteria.
ReefPure Ultimate Aminos Supplement is a comprehensive blend of essential
Amino Acids as found in coral skeletons and includes proteins
vital for calcification and tissue coloration. ReefPure Ultimate Aminos
Supplement is a unique product
that actually promotes growth beyond natural growth rates and promotes the
maximum color intensity of the coral tissue.
ReefPure Balanced Ion Potassium Supplement
Provides essential Potassium for the growth and coloration of hard corals
including SPS corals. ReefPure Balanced Ion Potassium Supplement is a unique
product that contains a proprietary blend of Potassium salts formulated to have
a minimal effect on the ionic balance of the aquarium. ReefPure Balanced Ion
Potassium Supplement is extremely concentrated containing nearly 60,000 ppm of
Potassium. As with all ReefPure products, ReefPure Balanced Ion Potassium
Supplement contains no Phosphates, Silicates, preservatives, chelating agents
and dyes. Potassium levels become depleted naturally and supplementation is
neccessary to correct the imbalance. In addition, many salt mixes are
defficient in Potassium.

AcclimMAX
Protect your New Fish. Acclimate your New Fish the Right Way.
Marine fish are particularly sensitive to being transported and are highly
susceptible to stress and disease when introduced into a new aquarium. When a
fish is placed in a bag for transport home, the water quality inside the bag
will begin to rapidly deteriorate. Carbon Dioxide and toxic Ammonia will begin
to build up and if unchecked, will threaten the new fish. In addition, even
subtle differences in water quality between the retail store and your home
aquarium can result in physiological reactions which could kill the new fish.
Warner Marine Research ReefPure AcclimMAX is a revolutionary new product for
introducing new fish to the home aquarium safely. Stress levels and recovery
times for new fish can be drastically reduced and survival rates are up to 50%
better when used as directed. ReefPure AcclimMAX is currently used worldwide in
commercial facilities to supply healthier fish to the hobby and will protect
your fish from the ocean's reef to the home aquarium.
ReefPure AcclimMAX performs several functions:
-
Reduces levels of toxic Ammonia
-
Buffers the transport water
-
Adds electrolytes and probiotics
-
Assists in reduction of stress hormones and metabolic waste
-
Promotes release of Carbon Dioxide to increase Oxygen Level
-
Bolsters the immune system for long term health
Always confirm that your retail store packs the fish in pure oxygen. Most
better stores will place the fish into the bag via a "water to water" transfer.
This method involves catching the fish in the aquarium with a small plastic cup
or container and transferring the fish and water into the plastic bag. Exposure
to air increases the level of stress and can damage the gills.

Twelve Great Years
Warner Marine Research is proud to celebrate our TWELFTH anniversary
developing and manufacturing the highest quality and best performing
marine and reef aquarium products available.
The Warner Marine Research Philosophy
The oceans reefs are a beautiful collection of water, marine life and most of
the earths known elements. The ocean is a perfect ecosystem, capable of
infinite growth, creation and re-creation of billions of life forms. The ocean
has long fascinated aquarists around the world; the desire to contain this
beauty in the home is nearly obsessive.
For many years the home aquarium exclusively displayed freshwater fish and
plants similar to those found in tropical and sub-tropical lakes and rivers.
There were many early attempts to keep marine fish and even living corals, but
these attempts invariably led to failure. The oceans perfectly tuned ecosystem
was beyond the abilities or the technology of the aquarist to duplicate. By the
1970's we started to understand the needs and the environment of marine fish
and corals, but the technology and the equipment was woefully insufficient to
allow widespread success of the marine aquarium until the early 1980's. We
began to develop methods, procedures and products to duplicate the ocean's
natural processes and water chemistry.
Building and maintaining proper water chemistry is the single greatest
achievement of the marine aquarium hobbyist. We are now able to create aquarium
water that is functionally and physically identical to the oceans reefs,
allowing us to keep, grow and admire a wide variety of marine life from
sensitive fish and living corals to microscopic floating algae. The modern
marine and reef aquarium hobbyist uses a variety of different products to
optimize, balance and condition the water to create an environment where marine
life will not only survive, but thrive, reproduce and grow at levels similar to
or beyond what is encountered on the oceans reefs.
These products, procedures and treatments must be selected carefully, with a
strict attention to quality, efficacy and performance. The long term stability
and success of the home aquarium is completely dependant on maintaining the
water quality at an extremely high level without adding harmful impurities. Any
water treatment, supplement or additive must work correctly from a scientific
and chemical perspective and not be contradictory to established research and
practice. In addition, these products must be formulated to achieve extremely
high levels of performance, meeting or surpassing natural seawater. The modern
marine and reef aquarium should generate a tremendous amount of growth and the
biological demand for nutrients and elements is great. These nutrients must be
delivered to the aquarium in precise quantities for optimum results.
